2000 Coeur De Leon, Estate
With a delicate, enticing and profound bouquet of lavender, blackberry, cherry, cedar and smoke drawing you in, rich aromas of cherry, raspberry and blackberry mingle on the fore-palate. Hints of cracked Malabar pepper, dark chocolate, tarragon and lavender show, while fine mocha-tinged tannins dance mid-palate, leading to notes of loam and black truffle aft. Vibrant berry fruit, hazelnut, smoke and hints of flower petals, coffee bean, rich, dark cocoa and Malabar pepper echo beautifully on the long, detailed aftertaste. A smooth, profound, delicate, balanced and beautifully integrated wine, our debut vintage of our flagship Coeur de Leon blend is drinking marvelously at the present, and will reward the patient connoisseur willing to allow it a few more years in the cellar.
